The Impressionist Era: Works on Paper
The Art Museum at MSU in the Kresge Art Center will have impressionist works from more than 55 artists on display from Jan. 7 until March 16.
Six Characters in Search of an Author
This play by Luigi Pirandello explores the distinction between fact and fiction. It will run from Jan. 29 until Feb. 3 at the Arena Theatre Auditorium Building. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for students.
(SCENE) Metrospace will host an in-depth investigation and exhibit of mail art, or art that has traveled by the postal system. The exhibit will take place from Jan. 11 until Feb. 24.
A New Brain
Peppermint Creek Theatre presents this comical play by the authors of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It runs from Jan. 10 to Jan. 19.

Fox on a Hill Presents the (SCENE) Metrospace Folk Festival
This two-day festival features artists such as Jen Sygit, The Fabulous Heftones, The Winter Sessions, Michael Beauchamp, Drew Howard and Luke Winslow-King on Jan. 18 and 19 at (SCENE) Metrospace.
Jazz: Spirituals, Prayer, and Protest
The Jazz Orchestra will be performing “Let There be Peace on Earth” as well as other popular gospel tunes in memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Jan. 20. See Katie Kelly’s article for more information.
