Comedian Christian Finnegan comes to MSU

The University Activities Board is bringing a free comedy show featuring Christian Finnegan to campus. He has appeared on VH1\’s Best Week Ever and Comedy Central\’s Chappelle\’s Show.
MSU Day of Percussion
Sunday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the MSU Auditorium
The MSU School of Music is presenting the MSU Day of Percussion. The MSU Spartan Marching Band drum line, concert percussion, guest clinicians and high school drum lines to perform and be critiqued by clinicians. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the door.
“Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives” Conference Series
Friday, Oct. 20, from 12:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the MSU Museum Auditorium
\”Our Daily Work / Our Daily Lives\” is a project emphasizing the artistic traditions of workers and on workplaces as contexts for the expression of workers culture. The richness and diversity of workers\’ experiences and workers culture is explored and presented through an ongoing series of exhibits, lectures, and presentations; writing and research projects; reunions; and demonstrations and discussions. The project is sponsored by Michigan Traditional Arts Program at the MSU Museum and the Labor Education Program in the College of Social Science\’s School of Labor and Industrial Relations, and it is free to attend.
Public Evening Sky Observation
Friday, Oct. 27, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the MSU Observatory
If the sky is sufficiently clear, the MSU Observatory will open its doors for public observing. The MSU 0.6 meter telescope will be set up for viewing on selected astronomical objects, in addition to smaller telescopes available in the observatory parking lot. Local and MSU astronomers will be available answer questions. This event, sponsored by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, is free of charge.
